History
Casting of the Vision
One, seemingly insignificant, conversation in November of 2008 led to a gathering of 4 individuals at a local coffee shop dreaming of creating a movement to clothe 5000 men, women and children who have become homeless.
After the emotion of what was about to take place subsided, we realized we had only 6 weeks to design a website, communicate a need, and create a process to deliver to local shelters personally.
The Event
December 20th, 2008 was a defining moment for ClotheCharlotte and every person who found themselves serving others. We witnessed husbands and wives, fathers and sons and best friends standing in the rain experiencing, for a brief moment, the emotion of “this could be me” and “I pray someone would care enough about me to give.”
The Impact
That was a great day. And for those of you who are wondering how well it went, over 1100 winter kits were collected and delivered to the homeless shelters.
