5000 Sleeping Bags

ClotheCharlotte is a grassroots organization making a huge impact for our city.  During our conversations with local shelters, they expressed to us a need for sleeping bags.  We listened to their hearts and responded by focusing our efforts on collecting 5000 sleeping bags. We will personally deliver one to every single homeless man, woman and child.  Find some guidelines on donations by clicking here.

Distribution

This year, on December 19, ClotheCharlotte will be distributing the sleeping bags to the homeless. We will be meeting at Freedom Park at 10:00 am, organizing the bags and pulling together to deliver throughout Charlotte. To volunteer to be a driver for the day of distribution, let us know on the Volunteer page.

What you can do

Help us springboard the movement.   We are partnering with Freedom Park, in conjunction with their annual Christmas Tree Lighting. We have a band lined up to do a free concert, and there will be fun things to do for the entire family. The event starts at 3:00pm, so come on out and help us create excitement.  This is a great opportunity for you to bring your sleeping bags and move us closer to meeting the need.

Also, you have our permission to take this movement to whatever community you are connected to and go for it.  We have a “street kit” on our website that is designed for this purpose.
